Who these apply to

These terms cover your use of tradewindsweb.ca. Tradewinds Web is a sole proprietorship in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, operated by George Alkabalan. If you actually hire us, the work is governed by the written scope of work we sign, not by this page.

What this site is

It is information about what we do and roughly what it costs. Prices shown here are a starting point so you are not left guessing. Nothing on this site is a binding offer. A price becomes real when it is written into a quote or a scope of work with your name on it.

Quotes, mockups and deposits

A free mockup is exactly that. You are under no obligation, you owe nothing, and if you do not want it you walk away and we are still friendly about it.

If you go ahead, the deposit and payment terms are written into your scope of work before any money changes hands. We do not start billable work on a handshake and we do not spring costs on you afterwards.

What we do not promise

This is the important one, so it is blunt.

We do not promise rankings. Nobody can. Any web company that guarantees you position one on Google is either guessing or lying, and we would rather tell you that than compete with it.

We do not promise a number of leads, calls or sales. We build the site properly and set up the things that help people find you. What happens after that depends on your market, your reviews, your pricing, and how fast you answer the phone.

What we do promise is that you will see the site built and live before you pay, and that we will tell you the truth about what a website can and cannot do for you.

Who owns what

The writing, layout, design and code on this site are ours. Please do not copy the site wholesale. Quoting a line and linking back is fine and we take it as a compliment.

Work we build for a client belongs to that client once it is paid for, and the domain is registered in their name from the start. If you ever leave us you take your site and your domain with you. That is the deal, and it is written into every scope of work.

Other people's websites

We link out to other sites, including our own demo builds and third party tools. We are not responsible for what is on somebody else's website.

Demo sites

Some of the work shown here is sample builds for businesses that do not exist, made so we would have something honest to show people instead of using real clients' work as advertising. They are labelled as demos. Their contact forms do not send anywhere and nobody is on the other end.

Limits

We keep the site accurate and working, but we do not guarantee it is available every second or free of every error. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of this website. Nothing here limits any rights you have under Canadian consumer protection law.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Prince Edward Island and the laws of Canada that apply in it.

Changes

If these change we will change this page and update the date at the top.
